What a wonderful day at Lancing College. Fr Steven brought the Year4God team down for creative exploration of the Eucharist.
CJM music a professional liturgical band lead the music and music workshops and brought Lancing College alive. The day was attended from lots of parishes across the Diocese.
Why not set up your own Critical Mass for your local churches.
See what the Children from Aldwick had to say:-
On Saturday 18 February several of us children were lucky enough to go to Lancing College. My brothers and I travelled with Mary and Fr Lawson along with Alicia Misselbrook and Sam Callaghan, which was great fun. We were very excited and giggling and chatting lots on the way!
When we arrived there was a talk about what we could expect from our day. Activities had been set up all around and we were busy all day. They had arts and crafts, drama workshops, and a Lord’s Prayer walk, to name a few things.
We had our packed lunch on the grass
where we had a fabulous view of the whole college. But my favourite part was
seeing the band CJM who were at Walsingham last year. They have many great songs and I have one of their CDs at home.
At the end of the day we had a
service (the ‘Critical Mass’ itself) and we were able to share all the things we
had worked on. These included drama to illustrate a gospel reading and prayers
using images and flashing lights, all of which was really interesting and creative. It made me think about different ways to worship God.
It was a really great experience and I want to thank Mary and Fr Lawson for taking
us all there, I would highly recommend this to anyone who was thinking about
going next year!
